Hawaii Trip Februrary 5, 2010

YOU JUST HAVE TO LAUGH!!!!
We were sitting comfortably in first class, all ready to sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight to Hawaii. Well Brent and I were sitting in first class. The boys were sitting in coach. It was the first flight out Friday morning to Oahu from LA. I was sitting there all relaxed and had actually dosed off. The Airplane doors were even shut. Then all of a sudden an announcement is made. "We need all standby passengers to deplane." "WHAT!!" There was about 34 of us. OH THE MISERY!!!! The next flight out was in 4 hours. And it was going to another Island which would require one extra flight.

Four hours later.....we are on a flight to Lihue. HURRAY!!!!

After we landed and before I even had my seat belt off I decided to turn my phone on and listen to my messages. The first message I heard was from Stake President Robinson informing me that our son Elder Wilson was coming home because of medical reasons and he would be landing in St. George on Sunday at 12:30 pm. "SUNDAY????" Heck it just took us a day and a half to get here......how in the heck are we going to beat Brian home. OH THE MISERY!!!!!

Luckily for us we were able to walk up to the gate of our next flight to Oahu, check in, and immediately walk right on the plane. It was about a 30 min flight. Then we rented our car and check in with Hawaiian Airlines to check flights to come home on. We decided to come home on the Saturday night flight. Next was the hour drive to Elder Grandpa and Sister Grandma's house.

We decided that we would get as much in as possible for our 1 day in Hawaii. So here's what we did.......

• Walked on the Hukilua Beach across the street
• Shopped at Foodland
• Visited the Temple
• Ate Breakfast at the Hukilau Cafe....YUMMMY!!!
• Snorkeled at Sharks Cove
• Ate a delicious snack at Ted's Bakery....YUMMMY!!!
• Stopped at a Road Side Fruit Stand....YUMMMY!!!
• Made a Quick Stop (for Brent) at a Road Side BBQ....kind of like a yard sale but a BBQ sale instead....YUMMMY!!!
  

And all of that before 1:00 p.m. Then we got word that Brian's itinerary was change and that he would not be coming home until Tuesday. So we decided to check out the flight situation. The Monday night flight looked the best. Saturday and Sunday were looking drab. Sooooooooo.... we decided to stay until Monday night. Here is what we did.....

• Went back to the Hukilua Beach across the street for the rest of the day
• Got Pizza from Pizza Hut......YUMMMY!!!
• Played cards till very very late (Utah time)

Sunday

• Went to church at the college ward....the ward our Elder Dad and Sister Mom are assigned to.....It was Fast Sunday and there was no wasted time :)
• Ate a wonderful Sunday dinner....prepared by Sister Mom....Yummmy!!!
• Walked to the Temple
• Ate some more
• Walked on the Hukilua Beach and saw a whale and found some treasures
• Played cards till very very late (Utah time and Hawaii time)
  

Monday

• Early Morning walk with my HONEY!!!
• Snorkeling at Sharks Cove again
• Souvenir shopping
  
• Back to the Hukilua Beach to do some body surfing and sand castle building
• Pack and head to the Airport at 7:00 p.m.

It was a whirl wind vacation....but we had the time of our lives.

Getting Home.....well that's another book. I'll get to that soon. :)
